Key features

By far the largest part of the inteGREAT scheme will be the Traffic Management and Pedestrian Priority Measures - changing the road layout along Marine Parade and completing the pedestrianisation of Regent Road. Others projects being completed at the same time along the seafront include esplanade lighting and resurfacing, landscaping, additional CCTV cameras, entertainment areas. The work, due to begin in September 2005, is being tightly scheduled so that the majority is completed prior to the next summer season 2006.

Key features include;

• Pedestrianisation of Regent Road
• New lighting scheme for the esplanade, with light cannons flooding the beach with changing coloured, computer-controlled light.
• High quality natural stone paving in large areas.
• Special lighting features. 
• Extended coverage of CCTV cameras, linked to the police, shops and security personnel.
• More emphasis on pedestrian safety and calming traffic around the Hollywood area.
